Halloween Makeup Haul

Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year and I absolutely love dressing up. I've dressed up every year since I was young, and one of my favourite things to do is make my own costumes. I don't necessarily mean sewing it together, but making it up myself instead of just buying a pre-bought one. And one of the other main things I love is doing the makeup. The past few years, my outfits have required a lot of makeup, normally dark and gory, but this year the makeup I'll be doing is a bit different. I am going to two seperate events this year and have two seperate costumes, but my second costume is a skeleton which isn't makeup but more facepaint. My main costume this year though is a Unicorn, which I'm really excited about. Mostly because I've seen so many cool makeup ideas for it on Pinterest that I'm really excited to try and recreate. That's why I went into my local Boots and picked up a few pieces to help me create my perfect unicorn look.

NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner in Vivid Petal - To create the look I have in mind, I needed pink, purple and blue coloured products. One of the main things I knew I needed was a bright coloured eyeliner, which is harder to find than you think, but NYX has a lot of really great bright coloured products just now. I saw their range of Vivid Brights Eyeliners and decided the best colour for my look would be the pastel pink shade of Vivid Petal. The colour of this eyeliner is exactly how it looks on the box and applies so easily, which I didn't think it would as the tip is quite long and I'm not used to that. I've seen some reviews saying it applies transparent but I'd have to disagree, as when I've tried it out it's looked very pigmented and bold. It's very affordable for a product I doubt I'll use much after Halloween, although you never know, so I'm really happy with this product overall.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Eletric Blue - I've seen this as such a multi-use product - for eyes, lips, cheeks - everything. I thought this would be great for both my eyes and the side of my face to create the look I have in mind. It's so smooth to apply and easy to use, especially as it's a jumbo pencil so has a large applicator. This product is extremely pigmented which I'm so happy about as that's exactly what I need, and it has a slight sparkle to it which is perfect. It's such a great price for the quality of it, and I'm really excited to give this a go.

Seventeen Eye Shadow in Magenta - The final thing I needed to complete my look was a dark pink matte eyesahdow. I own quite a few light pink matte shades and shimmer dark pink ones, but none like this. It's exactly what I was looking for: highly pigmented, easy to apply and stays on well. This was extremely affordable for how good it is, and is a product I can see myself using after Halloween.

These products, along with other eyeshadows and lipsticks, will hopefully create the unicorn look I have in mind. Let me know if you're dressing up this year, and I hope you all have a great Halloween!

See you guys soon x

Lush Halloween Haul

Lush is a brand I've never used too often in the past because of how sensitive my skin is. I used to get quite rashy when I used their bath bombs but loved some of their other products like their face masks. But at this time of the year I love having a good bath, so just had to buy some of their new Halloween range - and will definitely be purchasing some of their Christmas range soon. I'm really excited by the look of these products, some I've already used and others I'm yet to try.

Pumpkin Gift Set - When I was looking through this years Halloween products, I just knew I had to buy this adorable gift set. It contained most of the products I already wanted to buy so this made it so much easier for me. It contains the Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar, Pumpkin bath bomb, Boo bath melt and Lord of Misrule bath bomb which all look so amazing. I haven't used any of these yet as I'm trying to keep them for closer to Halloween night, but they do look so tempting - I'm really considering using one of these tonight. They all smell so amazing, and the smell of these kind of products really do make such a big difference in my opinion - I'm especially a fan of he smell of the pumpkin bath bomb. I'm so excited to use these, especially the bath bombs, because who doesn't love a good bath?

Lord of Misrule Shower Cream - My Soap & Glory body wash just ran out, so it was the perfect excuse to pick myself up one of these shower creams. I absolutely love the earthy smell of this and I love how it's a dark green colour - it's definitely getting me in the Halloween spirit already. It leaves me smelling great for ages afterwards which I'm so impressed with, as most of the shower creams I've used before have fragrances that disappear very quickly. It's definitely became one of my favourite Lush products at the moment.

R&B Hair Moisturiser - This isn't exactly a Halloween product but I bought it at the same time so I'll include it in the haul. When I saw this product in the Lush shop, I wasn't sure about it but the smell of it won me over. I absolutely love this orange flower fragrance as it reminds me so much of being away on holiday when I was younger. This product helps to moisturise and hydrate you hair, as well as leaving it smelling amazing. The only downside is that, as I apply it before I dry my hair, it can sometimes take a bit longer to dry it. But this is something I can look past becuase of how incredibly smooth and hydrated my hair has been since I started using it.

Mask of Magnaminty - This is a product I will always repurchase from Lush because I love it so much. This face mask really helps me with my spot prone skin and helps reduce any blotchiness I have. The peppermint smell is amazing - it always makes me want to eat it - and I find it to work so well. I've honestly seen such a reduction in skin outbreaks since I started using this, so I'd be an idiot to ever stop.

I'm so happy with all my purchases and am so excited to try out my bath bombs. Let me know if you've picked up anything from Lush's Halloween range this year yet or if you've used any of the ones I've mentioned. Thank you for reading my post and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

See you guys soon x

Back To University Haul

My absolute favourite thing about going back to Uni is buying all the supplies I need. I actually really enjoy picking them out and getting new pens and books - I don't care if I sound sad. This Monday I'm going into my second year at Glasgow which I'm excited but nervous for, but I have my experience from last year to help me out. I'm really happy with everything I picked up, so take a little nosy through my haul.

Paperchase

The first place I went to was Paperchase as this is my favourite shop for stationery. I really love some of the notebooks they have out just now, but considering I'm needing 6 seperate books this year, I wasn't willing to fork out that money.  They have a 3 for 2 deal on a lot of their stationery at ther moment, so I thought I'd take advantage of that and picked up 3 items in this deal. These notebooks come in packs of 3 with an orange, purple and blue book in each pack which isn't clear in the picture, but I really liked the idea of coloured notepads so picked up 2 packs.

Multicoloured A5 exercise books in pack of 3 - £5
Red 30cm ruler - £2.50

ASOS

I picked up this really cute bikini bag, which I'm going to use as a pencil case, while browsing through ASOS for some new Uni clothes. I liked how deep it was as a lot of other pencil cases are pretty shallow which always annoys me, and I absolutely loved the colour scheme and slogan on the bag.

Mermaid Off Duty bikini bag - £10

Tesco

The last place I went for stationery was Tesco as that's the best place to pick up pens in my opinion. There was so many coloured pens to pick from, but I decided to pick these thin ones as I already have thicker ones and sharpies. I also thought I'd pick up these sticky white labels as I like to label my notepads.

Black ball point pens - £1.50
Staedtler rainbow ball pen 10 pack - £4
White labels - £2

I'm pretty happy with everything I picked up, and everything else I need I already have. Let me know if you're starting or going back to Uni this year and what you've picked up. Thank you so much for reading my post and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sleek Makeup Haul

Sleek is a makeup brand I was only introduced to earlier this year. I picked up their face contour kit and really enjoyed it, yet never repurchased anything from them after this and I'm not sure why. Then, on a recent trip to my local Boots, I decided it was time to give this brand another try. They had a 3 for 2 offer on their products which just tipped me over the edge and I ended up picking up a few things.

i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in A New Day - I'm such a sucker for eyeshadow palettes, but most of the ones I own are more high end. That's why, when I seen how affordable the Sleek palettes are, I knew I had to pick one up. I decided to choose A New Day as the colours were shades I had been looking for recently and they all looked beautiful. I have been absolutely loving this palette since I got it and have been wearing it most days since. I've tried every single one of the shades so far and not one of them has disappointed me. Some shades are matte while others are shimmer which is what I love in a palette as it gives you some versatility and range. My favourite shades right now from this palette are  Brightside, Carpe Diem and Believer but I honestly do love them all. For the price, this product is really good quality and the shadows last me all day which I'm happily surprised about. The only thing is that it comes with that cheap eyeshadow brush, which was quickly thrown away. But I overall really love this palette and the price of it makes me love it even more.

Matte Me Lip Cream in Petal - I'm normally terrified of light pink shades of lipstick, but after wearing my NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Sydney to absolute death, I feel like I conquered that fear. That's why I decided to pick up this beautiful light pink shade. I've seen these Matte Me lipsticks around the beauty blogging world for quite a while and have seen so many people really enjoying them. That's why I knew I had to pick one up when I seen them. I first of all have to say this shade is absolutely beautiful. It's something I never thought I'd ever wear but I really love it. The consistency and feel of these lip creams is amazing and does not feel drying on your lips at all, which I know is the fear when wearing products like this. They last all day, and I even find myself having to scrub it off at night as it's that long lasting. I absolutely love this product and I'm definitely going to be picking it up in some other shades soon.

Power Plump Lip Crayon in Power Pink - When I seen this product at the Sleek counter, I was really intrigued by the idea of it. The purpose of it is that it's a very pigmented lip crayon that plumps up your lips and leaves it with a tingling feeling. I didn't know that it left your lips feeling tingley when I bought it though, as this is something I've really disliked about it. The fact that it plumps up your lips was something I found quite exciting, and that's the reason I bought it. The colour of the crayon is really lovely as it's a light fuchsia shade that I don't own anything like. I also like lip crayons as they're very easy to apply and feel very soft on your lips. I do wish I liked this product, I really do, but to be honest I don't. The tingling feeling on your lips is very strong and doesn't go away quickly, so I ended up having to scrub it off my lips after 15 minutes. It wasn't a very nice feeling and I can't imagine myself willing wearing this often, unless I really wanted plumper lips. I can't even comment on if it does plump up your lips as I took it off too quickly.

Overall, Sleek is a brand that I'm really starting to like. For how affordable and high quality their products are, I can definitely see myself purchasing a lot more from them in the future. Let me know if you have any of the products I've mentioned or if you enjoy any of Sleeks other products. Thank you so much for reading my post and I hope you all have a great day!

Mini Lush Haul

Lush is a shop I absolutely love but never seem to visit as much as I would like to. I find a lot of their products, especially their bath bombs, really don't react well with my sensitive skin and leave me with a bit of a rash. That's why I decided, on my most recent visit to the shop, to pick up a few different products I'd never tried from Lush before but had heard great things about, that would hopefully not react as badly with my skin.

Sea Spray Hair Mist - Lush's Sea Spray Hair Mist was something I'd heard a lot of people talking about who all seemed to really love it. I really liked the idea of it, as I have very dry hair and needed something to brighten it up, as well as a product that could liften my hair during the day. I do have to say it's not Lush's cheapest product, but I was really intrigued and excited to give it a go. The one thing I have to say about this is that it has a very strong sea salt smell - duh. Some people seem to really like this smell, but I have to be honest - I don't. I feel like you can smell it all day after you use it, so I find myself trying to cover the smell with body sprays and perfumes which is bad, I know. As a product though, I do really like it. I find it keeping my hair very voluminous over the course of the day and holds it in place very well. It's also good to give your hair a bit of a boost when you need it throughout the day. I've found myself using this quite a lot since I got it as it works really well and has been leaving my hair looking great, especially when my hair's been curly. As a product, I do really like this, if only it didn't smell so strongly of sea salt.

Mask of Magnaminty - Now this is one of those 'bloggers made me buy this' products. I had seen a lot of bloggers posting reviews on this face mask, and all the ones I've read so far have been really positive. That's why, on my latest trip to Lush, I knew I just had to pick this up. I went for the smaller size out of the two that were available, just incase I wasn't a fan. This product really appealed to me due to the fact it's supposed to prevent and tame any skin outbreaks, and since I have very spot prone skin, this seemed very suited to me. It can be used on both your face and back which I think is a really smart idea, as I know quite a few people have have bad outbreaks on the top of their backs. It's a peppermint mask which smells absolutely amazing, and I find myself wanting to eat this when I smell it - I obviously don't eat it though. I've found this mask has worked really well for my skin. I've seen such a reduction in outbreaks on my face if I use this once a week, which I'm really happy with. I have noticed though, as I have really sensitive skin, I can't use this more than once a week or it causes my skin to be quite aggrivated. I also need to make sure I remove it after about 5 minutes as well, but that's definitely something I can live with. I really enjoy using this mask and it's worked wonders for my face, so this gets a massive thumbs up from me.

I've now restored my love for Lush and will definitely be back in soon to buy more stuff. Let me know what Lush products I could use with very sensitive skin and what your opinions are of the Sea Spray and Mask of Magnaminty. Thank you so much for reading my post and I hope you all have a great day!

NYX and Kiko Milano Haul

I recently bought myself some lip products from NYX that I absolutely loved which I feautured in my NYX lip haul post, so decided I wanted to buy some more. If you read my post, you'll know that I wanted to find a counter rather than buying the products online so I could swatch them first. My local Boots doesn't have a counter, but one opened up at the Glasgow Fort on Tuesday so I decided to go there. I originally wanted to buy the Liquid Suede lipstick in Sandstorm, but it was out of stock when I got there (gutter), so I picked up some other lip products instead. I also saw they had a Kiko Milano store which I had never checked out before, and found myself picking up two new eyeshadows while I was there.

Lip Lingerie in Honeymoon - The NYX Lip Lingerie's are a liquid lipstick I'd heard quite a few good things about so really wanted to try one. I picked mine up in the shade Honeymoon, as I already have quite a few brown/nude liquid lipsticks and this one was least similar to any I already own. I find the NYX liquid lipsticks to be very soft and creamy and this one's no exception. It feels very comfortable to wear and I don't find it to be drying at all. It also doesn't dry immediately, so you're able to easily apply more than one layer without it being blatantly obvious where one layer ends and the other begins. I also really like this shade as it's a lot darker than I expected, and can look almost black when I apply a few layers. It's also very durable, and took a lot of scrubbing to get it off my lips. My only issue with this is the applicator, which I've seen a lot of people really enjoying. It's flat rather than being curved to your lip shape which I find a bit annoying, but it's definitely something I can look past since this product is actually really good.

Liquid Suede in Cherry Skies - I have to say that the Liquid Suede line is something that's really been intriguing me the past few weeks. It contains some really bold colours, some of which I'd love to try but I'm just not brave enough, such as Stone Fox, Amethyst and Orange County. As I said, I originally wanted to try Sandstorm but it was out of stock when I got there, so played it safe with the dark red shade Cherry Skies. I own a lot of red lipsticks but I actually don't own any red liquid lipsticks, so I was excited to try this out. At first, I was a bit on the fence about this product. It's extremely pigmented and I seemed to keep using too much and having to start over - a small amount is all you need. It's also very liquidy - duh - when you apply it, so it can run quite easily. It also has the same applicator as the Lip Lingeries, but I'm sure I'll eventually get over my dislike of it. As a shade, Cherry Skies is a really gorgeous deep red colour which I absolutely love and am really happy with. When it dries, it looks really beautiful and elegant. I really like this product but the consistency of it isn't great - I ended up with it all over my hands and teeth (don't even ask me how).

Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sydney - If you read my previous NYX lip haul, you'll know I already purchased two of these lip creams in Cannes and Milan. I really enjoyed them and found them to be so comfortable on my lips, so decided to pick one up in the shade Sydney. I'm not normally a pink lipstick fan, and this shade is a very light pink, but saw people wearing it and thought it looked really nice. And I have to say, I absolutely love it. The consistency of these are gorgeous and it feels so creamy and smooth on the lips. The shade is absolutely beautiful, and is something I never thought I'd enjoy but I really do. The applicator on this is also so much easier for me to use as it's slighly curved on the edge. These are fast becoming some of my favourite lip products considering how affordable they are, and I'm definitely planning on buying some more.

High Pigment Wet And Dry Eye Shadow in 63 - When I visited the Kiko Milano store, these High Pigment Eye Shadows really stood out to me. I have so many palettes I wear religously and don't often buy eye shadows individually, but I really loved the look of these shades. The shade 63 is a pearly rosewood pink colour that has a slight shimmer to it. I haven't actually got round to trying these out yet, but they look absolutely gorgeous. I decided to pick up this one as I realised I didn't have a lot of pink or peach shades in my collection, and after buying the Soft Matte Lip Cream, I wanted to pair it with a pink eye look. I really liked the idea of these and how durable they're stated as being, so I'm very excited to give them a go.

High Pigment Wet And Dry Eyeshadow in 37 - The other shade I decided to pick up was 37, which is a pearly rose gold shade. This also has a slight shimmer to it and looks absolutely gorgeous. This one is slightly peachy with shimmers of gold through it which really intrigued me. I'm really excited to pair these two shades together, as well as using this shade on it's own or as a base with other shades. I will be posting a review of these shadows soon after I've tried them out, so keep your eyes pealed for that post.

I'm really happy with what I picked up on my shopping trip, and it was all really affordable. I'm really happy with they NYX products I bought and am really excited to try the Kiko Milano eye shadows. Let me know if you've tried out any of the products I've mentioned and what your opinions on them are. Thank you so much for reading my post and I hope you all have a great day!

NYX Lip Haul

NYX is a brand that's been around for a while now, but a lot of people seem to be raving about it recently. This is mainly due to how affordable but high quality their products are.  I'd never tried NYX before as there isn't a counter near me and I'd never thought to buy any of their products online. Recently, a lot of people seem to be really enjoying their soft matte lip creams so I thought it was about time I tried the brand out. I decided to purchase two of the soft matte lip creams, and while browsing through their products, I decided to also purchase a butter gloss and a lip liner. I then decided to turn this into a lip haul as I love reading haul posts but I've never done one before. I'll give you a quick overview of each product and my first opinions on them. Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan -  I decided that I wanted to buy a lip cream in a pinky shade, as I don't own that many pink coloured lipsticks. That's why I decided to purchase Milan, as it was stated as being a mid-tone blue-toned pink. The shade is very pink- more that I thought it would be to be honest - and my first reaction was that I'd never wear it. It's a really gorgeous shade if you're a fan of pink lipsticks, but it's just a bit too bright for me. I feel like I'll end up trying to wear this over the coming months though, as it's a perfect shade for the summer.  This is definitely one to look for if you're wanting an affordable pink matte lipstick.Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes - When I was first looking through the shades, Cannes was the one that I really wanted.  It's stated as being a muted mauve shade, but actually has some brown undertones to it. It's still a pinky shade, but is darker than Milan so I feel like it's a pink colour I could wear and be able to pull off. I really like this colour as it's unlike any of the shades I already own. I do have to say, I really enjoy wearing the soft matte lip creams. They feel amazing on my lips and don't dry them out like some of the other matte lipsticks I own. They feel really creamy - as the name suggests - and the matte effect also looks gorgeous. I now understand what all the fuss was about surrounding these - they're definitely worth the buy. Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée - I don't normally wear a lot of lip glosses so decided to try this one as it's so afforable. I really like the texture of this gloss as it's not too sticky on the lips and looks gorgeous over other lipsticks. I find that when I wear this, it feels like I'm not wearing anything at all which I love. Also, the shade of this one is gorgeous - it has a slight pink tone to it which looks perfect with other pinky toned lipsticks. This is definitely a great lipgloss if you're in the market for one - I'll definitely be using this a lot in the coming months. Lip Liner in Pink Cantaloupe -  I wanted to try out the NYX lip liners as I love liners but can be quite fussy about what ones I like and what ones I don't. I prefer the crayon ended liners compared to pencils, which is why I wanted to try this one out. I picked this shade as I don't have any light pink coloured ones - this one is a pinky peach shade. The colour is gorgeous but can flush me out slightly due to my pale skin. It's also stated as being waterproof which I'm excited to try out - I find a lot of my other liners don't last very long. I really like these liners, and am planning to purchase it in another shade very soon.Overall, I'm quite impressed with NYX as a brand considering I'd never tried it before.  The colours look slightly different in person to online, so I think the next time I plan on buying their products, I'll look for one of their drug store counters. I definitely recommend their lip products, and have also purchased their cream contour kit which I'm excited to try. I hope you've enjoyed reading my first ever haul post and I'm excited to hopefully post more in the future. Let me know if you've tried any of the products I've mentioned and what your opinions on them are. Thank you so much for reading my post, and I hope you all have a fab day!

See you guys soon x
